Not many things in my life have been as constant as my love of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. The memory of having peanut butter gummed against the roof of my mouth goes back as far as I can remember. This was one of those days when I felt the need to indulge in this lifelong comfort. So, I stopped by the grocery store and grabbed the essential building blocks of the PB&J: a loaf of bread, jar of JIF Peanut Butter, and a jar of Grape Jam.  Today, lunch was simple but satisfying.

PBJ

Take this basic sandwich recipe and throw some creativity at  it and you can turn this basic Yum-Yum into a daily meal.

Here are a few variations of the traditional PB&J:

The Triple Decker PB&J

Add a third slice of bread and load it up with extra Peanut Butter and Jelly.

The Gob Stopper PB&J

The PB&J recipe with a layer of peanut butter at least as thick as a slice of bread.

PB&J w/ Doritos

Crunchy goodness. Add a layer of Doritos chips in the middle and crunch away.

PB&J w/ Ruffles

Same as PB&J w/Doritos except you use Ruffles Potato Chips.

PB&J w/ Peanuts

Bump up the peanut taste by adding in Planter’s Roasted Peanuts in the middle.

PB&J Delight

Take the basic PB&J and add Marshmallow Whip.

PB&J w/ Bananas

Add slices of banana to the core recipe for some tropical bang.

PB&J Elvis Style

Fry that PB&J w/ Nanners in a pan of butter.
